Reaching the needs of women and children.
One year after the NatalCare program in Honduras was initiated, thousands of women and children have been enrolled and are receiving proper pre-and postnatal vitamin supplements on a regular basis. The program is not intended to be a random distribution of vitamins, but specific for young women who are wanting to become pregnant, women who are pregnant or who have given birth within the past year and their children. Due to the wide acceptance and efficacy of this program in Honduras, it is being expanded to other countries as funds and partners are available.
Midwifery training and birthing services have grown from the NatalCare program allowing women to deliver their babies in a medical setting. The women and children must return every thirty days to receive a new supply of vitamin supplements allowing the opportunity for counseling on such issues as reproductive health, hygiene, nutrition, disease prevention and other family matters.

Currently, no public funds are received for this project
Because of a special humanitarian price made with the manufacturers, Global Outreach is able to supply vitamin supplements to program recipients for $15-25 per year, depending on the destination country. Other program costs include salaries for field personnel which represents ten percent of our total budget and transportation cost of the supplements which is nominal. Currently, no public funds are received for this project and private sponsors are solicited to help in this overall project expense.
Through public and private partnerships, adequate care is being delivered to those who suffer the most. Global Outreach is one such private volunteer organization (PVO) who makes pre-and postnatal care one of their priorities and delivers necessary vitamins to public and private clinics in developing and affected areas.
Global Outreach has supplied thousands of young women and children with the proper vitamin supplements so vital for good nutrition and development. Because of their volunteer efforts in twenty-seven countries around the world, untold numbers have received proper nutrition and healthcare during times of need resulting from either economic depravation, wars or disasters.

"BTW, we did get back with the vitamins and yesterday managed to get them to a clinic in Choluteca's new village of 1,500 houses for Mitch refugees! One 40ish lady who lost her home and all possessions in the flood, knocked on my car window to ask if I had anything for her anemia! What a thrill to tell her that the nurse would be getting them to her. Many of us owe you a lot--personal thanks. Love in Christ, L."
"In thirty years of field service, NatalCare is the most effective long term program I have ever overseen. It combines all the right ingredients for successfully helping those in need. We positively affect the well being of women and their children primarily by aiding nutrition and health. When combined with counseling and general education sessions we go a long way to facilitating the goals of women to improve their lives and those of their families. By growing healthy young minds and bodies we will contribute to the success of future generations and the society as a whole."
